Visit To Hay Dairies Goat Farm

We visited Hay Dairies Goat Farm on 14 April 2009. It was a great experience and we learned a lot from the trip! These are our take aways...



1) Goats can only produce milk after they have given birth. - Shaun

2) The farmers use a milking machine to milk the goats. - Shane

3) The goats on the farm are from America. - Warren

4) The farmer burnt off the horns on the female goats when they were young so that they do not hurt one another when they are pregnant. - Edward and others

5) The goats store their milk in their udders. - Corey

6) The goats on the farm are mountain goats. - Yi An

7) Some of the goats are brown and white but most of them are black. - Corey

8) Male goats are called bucks. - Renee

9) Female goats are called Does. - Ryan
